Team Building Workshops
Given a simple project, the team-building workshop equalizes all team members by removing rank/hierarchy for the day - creative expression is a great 'leveler'.
When immersed in a creative project people tend to find a reprieve from any external factors that would ordinarily cause distraction.
During this time, individuals in the team can reconnect with each other outside of their company roles and on a more general peer-to-peer platform. This assists in forming a new sense of empathy and cooperation.
Main Activity
The team will be divided up into smaller groups to paint individual canvas panels (30cm x 91cm) that will ultimately create one big, continual piece of art (eg 10 team members will create a final piece measuring 3 metres!
We use various mediums with water-soluble acrylic paint. The activity of painting is very inclusive as it requires relatively little physical fitness and is guided in such a way that people who don’t consider themselves creative are pleasantly surprised by their output. Throughout the workshop the tutor circulates to assist with the painting process.
Ideally, the artwork should be installed in the workplace so that it serves as a recurring 'feel good' trigger for all those who participated in the creation of said work.
Large artworks can be spread throughout the office/work space if wall space is a premium. Quite often the artwork can be a talking point with clients if you have the artwork installed in a public reception area, staff or board room.
How does it all work?
With 100 square metres of dedicated studio space we can conduct workshops at our Fortitude Valley location between 10am – 4pm on either a Tuesday or Friday.
The workshops are conducted for teams of 5 – 15 people at any one time. Larger teams can be divided over two sessions.
We take approximately 5-6 hours to complete a workshop based on each person painting a panel.
A half hour is taken for a light lunch break – you are welcome to order in catering (best are finger foods and sandwich selections) to enjoy in our gallery space.
Recommended Attire
As painting is a creative process with a tendency for being a messy activity – participants are asked to wear casual ‘old clothes’, comfortable footwear and aprons are supplied for those who wish to use them.
Fee
The workshops are charged per participant, with a minimum required booking for five participants. The fee per participant is $195 incl.
A 50% deposit is required upon booking with the balance payable one week before the workshop date. Payment can be made either by credit card, cash or electronic transfer.
